Learn about Japanese language, art, stories and culture! Session 1 (ages 8-12) is a more in depth exploration of art, language and culture that includes wind bells, Sumi calligraphy, Japanese food preparation, indigo dyeing, hanging Kokedama (moss balls), Tama ire and Hanetsuki games, haiku and more. Session 2 (ages 5-7) focuses on traditional seasonal celebrations and festivals and will include beginning vocabulary, folktales, Zen gardens with kimono dolls, Ikebana (flower arrangement), Kokedama and more. Origami, Sumi-e (ink painting) and games will be enjoyed along with Japanese snacks and tea.
